So I run a small contracting business here in Abu Dhabi and we deal with a lot of long materials like PVC conduits, timber battens, and aluminum profiles for window framing, and honestly storing them properly has been driving me up the wall for months. We've been leaning them against walls, tying them in bundles, and they always end up getting knocked over, damaged, or just taking up way too much awkward space in the yard. I was browsing online for some kind of horizontal storage solution and came across this supplier called Crateco that seems to specialize in all sorts of industrial storage boxes. What really caught my attention was this long jumbo crate that looks like it could finally solve our storage chaos – it's long enough to fit our standard 3-meter lengths without sticking out, and it has that sturdy construction that won't collapse under the weight of heavy timber. The idea of being able to stack them and keep everything organized by type is genuinely exciting. I'm just wondering if anyone here has actually used these for construction materials and whether they hold up under the harsh sun here in the UAE. Do they get brittle after a few summers, or are they UV-stable enough to last? Also, is it easy to access stuff from the side or do you have to unstack everything to get to the bottom ones? I'd hate to invest in a whole system only to realize it's impractical for daily use. Any thoughts from fellow contractors or warehouse managers would be much appreciated.
