I'm still shaking from the experience I had this morning and honestly I don't think I've ever been so stressed in my life. I was driving to work on Sheikh Zayed Road during peak traffic, you know how chaotic it gets around 8am, and suddenly my car started losing power and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. I managed to coast to the hard shoulder but I was absolutely terrified with all the cars whizzing past me at high speed. I sat there for what felt like forever trying to figure out what to do, calling my insurance company only to be put on hold for ages while I'm sitting there sweating in the heat. Eventually I got through and they said they'd send someone but it would take over an hour because of the traffic. I was honestly panicking because I had a really important meeting that I absolutely couldn't miss and I was stuck in the middle of nowhere. A guy in a pickup truck stopped to check if I was okay and he told me I should have just called a proper recovery service instead of waiting for the insurance guys. He gave me a number for a company that apparently specialises in this sort of thing and said they're usually there within twenty minutes. I'm definitely saving that number for future reference because I never want to go through that again. Has anyone else had to use a Professional car towing service in Dubai and actually had a good experience with them? I want to have a backup plan sorted because clearly my insurance roadside assistance isn't reliable enough when you're actually in a bind. Lesson definitely learned the hard way today.
