The kitchen sink drain is slower than molasses in January

I'm getting really frustrated with my kitchen sink because it seems like no matter what I do, the water just doesn't want to go down the drain like it used to. It started out as a minor annoyance where it would take a little longer to empty, but now it's gotten to the point where I can't even wash a few dishes without the water backing up and sitting there for ages before slowly trickling away. I've tried using a plunger, I've poured boiling water down there, I've used those foaming drain cleaners, and I even tried a drain snake that I bought from the hardware store, but nothing seems to make any lasting difference. I'm starting to think that the problem might be deeper in the pipes, maybe some built-up grease or food debris that's created a blockage further down the line. The thought of having to deal with a more serious plumbing issue is stressing me out, especially because I use my kitchen sink constantly and I can't really function without it working properly. I know I should probably call a professional at this point, but I'm worried about the cost and I want to make sure I'm not overpaying for something that might be a relatively simple fix. I've been looking into cost-effective plumbing solutions in San Mateo because I want to find someone who can get the job done without charging an arm and a leg. Has anyone else dealt with a chronically slow kitchen sink drain that wouldn't clear with DIY methods? What ended up being the problem and how much did it cost to get it sorted out? I'd really appreciate some honest feedback before I start calling around.
